Fast of Tabernacle (Sukkot)

Greeting prayer Saints,

We are fast approaching our third of three feasts [fast] for 2024, the fast of “Tabernacle ” (Sukkot) entitled “Repossess” (The Gates) commencing Sunday 1st September 2024 concludes Sunday 20 October 2024.
Our 2024 theme scripture is taken from, 2 Samuel 22:14-15 &2 Kings 13:15-18 – “Shoot the arrow and strike the ground”
Key theme: “YAHWEH WILL DELIVER”
Declaration:
1. I Will Recover (Rise-up)
2. I Will Reposition (Re-set)
3. I Will Repossess (The gates)

Recap
Ahead of our first fast “Passover” reflecting on the Word of the Lord for our three feasts [fast] the Lord spoke through Pastor Nathan sermon on the 7th January 2024 and he said, “God is calling us to do something this year, get intense, draw near, take your position, do not posture before people, posture before God.” He went on to say “the people were called to march around Jericho, everyone were called to march! But God called the priest to lead the procession.”
In through the sermon the Word from the Lord, just as Pastor Nathan was speaking, I heard the voice of the Lord audibly, “look in-front of you” (my head was down as I was taking notes). I continued to write and Pastor Nathan next point was “God has polished arrows hidden in His quiver.” The voice I was hearing became louder, so I looked up, in-front of me the media team had the theme for this year on the overhead along with the three declarations points. The Spirit of God spoke to me – “there is the three prayer theme for the three fast of 2024”
1. Recover / Reset – Fast 1(Passover)
2. Reposition / Recover – Fast 2 (Pentecost)
3. Repossess / The Gates – Fast 3 (Tabernacle)
In view of the above, I am commissioned to obey the voice of the Lord and follow His instructions for “Yahweh Will Deliver”! The Lord is very strategic in how the temple was built, how Nehemiah built the wall, how the wall of Jericho came down, how Moses was called the come up higher, how Joshua was positioned to take over from Moses, how David became King, how Barak conquered, how Elisha received the double portion of the anointing. Conversely, I could draw our attention to many more examples of strategic alliances with God which brought forth testimonies of God glory on display, but for now, we too have been given specific instructions which we most do accordingly.

Repossess

The word “repossess” in the Bible usually refers to regaining ownership of something that was once one’s. This concept is demonstrated in several verses that deal with the return of blessings, land, or other assets to their original owners. For instance, the Israelites were frequently promised in the Old Testament that if they obeyed God’s commands, they would be able to repossess (reclaim)the land that He had given them.
The biblical concept of repossession frequently has a spiritual connotation, signifying the fulfilment of God’s promises and benefits to His people.

Looking at historians in the Bible who had experienced repossession:
Job, a righteous man, faced immense suffering as he lost his wealth, children, and health. Despite his trials, he remained faithful to God. After enduring and questioning his plight, God spoke to him, highlighting divine wisdom. Job humbly accepted God’s sovereignty. In the end, God restored Job’s fortunes, giving him double of what he had lost, blessing him with prosperity and a long life. This story underscores faith, endurance, and divine restoration; including his trials and eventual repossession. Specifically, the restoration of Job’s fortunes is detailed in Job 42:10-17. This passage describes how God restored Job’s health, doubled his previous wealth, and blessed him with new children and a long, prosperous life.

The Year of Jubilee, in Leviticus 25, occurred every 50 years. It was a time of liberation and restoration: debts were forgiven, Hebrew slaves were freed, and land was returned to its original owners. This ensured that families could reclaim their ancestral inheritance and prevented permanent poverty. We witness that once Moses gave the Israelites the law of God’s rules, they were able to repossess land back to its original owners, signifying a new beginning and God’s provision for His people.

Another story of repossession in the Bible is the Israelites’ return to the Promised Land. After being enslaved in Egypt for 400 years, God led the Israelites out of bondage through Moses. They wandered in the wilderness for 40 years due to their disobedience. Eventually, under Joshua’s leadership, they crossed the Jordan River and began to repossess the land of Canaan, which God had promised to their ancestors. This repossession involved conquering various cities and territories, symbolising God’s fulfilment of His promise and the restoration of their inheritance. Read Joshua 1-12 and Nehemiah 1-7.

A Repossession testimonial in the New Testament involved the early Christian community. In the Book of Acts, we see the concept of communal sharing and the restoration of property to its rightful owners. Specifically, in Acts 4:32-37, the believers shared everything they had, and those who owned land or houses sold them and brought the proceeds to the apostles. This ensured that no one among them was in need, symbolising a form of repossession and redistribution of wealth to support the community, with shared values in providing for needs whilst fostering unity.
