Yahweh Will Deliver

Our Topic: ‘Yahweh Will Deliver’
Our Text: 2 Kings 13:15-18

‘And Elisha said to the King, take a bow and some arrows… Open the east window and shoot… [it is] the arrow of the Lord’s Deliverance… Then Elisha said, take the arrows and strike the ground…’

Sometimes, the acts of God do not seem to make any sense, especially when you are facing difficulties.
In Exodus 3, the Lord used ‘a burning bush’ to get the attention of Moses.

In 2 Kings 5:10-14, Yahweh used the River Jordan to heal Naaman of leprosy.

In John 9:6-7, Jesus used saliva mixed with clay to heal a blind man’s eyes.

And, in 2 Kings 13:14-18, Elisha instructs the king to take an arrow and shoot it through the window and then more arrows and beat the ground.

The king thought that this was a foolish request and decided to beat the ground only three times. Elisha became angry at the King’s lack of commitment. Elisha said to the king, “You should have hit the ground at least five or six times, then you would have completely defeated everything coming against you. Now your victory is only partial”

I will recover everything.
I will rise up. No more bent low.
I am more than a conqueror.
I break free from every shackle.
The battle is not mine, but the Lord’s
