Word: Turning A Broken Story Into God’s Glory
In Acts 2 we learn that the disciples were in ‘one accord’: unbroken, fitly merged together, and complete. The disciples were not only in ‘one accord’, they were also in ‘one place’: They were seen as a ‘single unit’, and souls were being added to the Church daily. What a beautiful unit to be part of.
However, in Acts 8 we read that there arose a ‘great persecution against the Church in Jerusalem; And they were all scattered abroad throughout the regions of Judea and Samaria’. The Apostles were doing an amazing work, so why would the Lord allow the enemy to ‘shatter’ and ‘scatter’ them? Yet, it was in them being ‘shattered’ that they were ‘scattered’ into all parts of the world. They were like ‘bread being broken’ to feed the hungry. The Apostles were abused, persecuted, lied on, beaten, assaulted, and exiled. However, it was in the midst of all this, that the Church grew.
Why? Because the broken pieces would not keep quiet. The broken pieces kept on testifying. The broken pieces kept on singing. The broken pieces kept on preaching. The broken pieces just could not be silenced. Each piece was a testimony of the ‘Good News’. So, the Church grew because of the broken pieces.
A whole vessel looks amazing on the ‘mantlepiece’, but it takes a broken vessel to tell how it became a ‘Masterpiece’. To shift from the ‘Mantle-piece’ to ‘Masterpiece’, there will often be a ‘shattering’ and a ‘scattering’. A whole vessel is like a ‘solo’. A shattered vessel is like a ‘choir’, with each piece blending its own rendition of God’s goodness and grace.
Each scar, every wound, every time you were abused, lied on, kicked down, fell down, failed, ignored, overlooked, misunderstood, and misjudged; each piece will tell the story of how you got over. You will declare, ‘I was once on the mantlepiece, but now I am a ‘Masterpiece’, put together by the ‘Master Potter’.
PROPHETIC PRAYER
– Father, You said that in everything I must give You thanks because this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning me. (1 Thessalonians 5:16-18)
– Father, help me not to miss my season of change; my opportune time; or my Kairos moment. Even when ‘change’ comes with the intention to ‘break’ me.
– Today, Lord, shift me from the mantlepiece, and make me a ‘Masterpiece’. In Jesus Name.
– Empty me of every contamination: Anger; envy; malice; bitterness; unforgiveness; resentment; spite; irritation; impatience; self-righteousness; offense; intolerance; pride; arrogance; rebellion; and disobedience. Let my vessels pour out pure wine.
– Today, I reject every worldly mindset, bad behaviour, corrupt attitude, and ungodly personality trait that does not represent Your Name, Jesus.
– Father, let this ‘Masterpiece’ be exceptional, extraordinary, and formidable, causing demons to tremble, fall, and fail. In Jesus’ Name.
– I thank You Lord for this New Beginning; Refreshing; Re-Birthing; Reviving; and Restoring, by You, ‘My Master-Potter’, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.
