Theme Text: John 3:8
‘The Scribes and Pharisees brought unto Him a woman taken in adultery, Jesus said to them, “He who is without sin, let him first cast the stone”. And He stooped down and wrote in the ground’.

Luke 8:1-2
‘And it came to pass afterward… that Jesus went throughout every city and village. And certain women, which had been healed of evil spirits and infirmities, including Mary Magdeline, out of whom went seven devils’.

Theme Word: ‘Christ Stooped Down & Wrote In The Ground’
This woman caught in adultery reminds me so much of Mary Magdeline. The Pharisees described them both as ‘sinners’. Mary didn’t just have one demon, she had seven: the complete package. To be perfectly honest, there are times when we seem no different to these ladies. Whether it be in the area of an unhealthy routine, an unwholesome environment, shady relationships, unacceptable lifestyles, or a flawed character trait. There are times when we convince ourselves into thinking that ‘it-is-what-it-is’. Some of you reading this journal may actually believe that you are unchangeable, unredeemable, too lost to be found, too sick to be healed, too much of a failure for any form of recovery or transformation.

However, God made a vow concerning you and He is a God who will always keep His Covenant Promise. You belong to God; You are His Bride, He is your ‘Kingsman Redeemer’. You may have had to endure much ridicule, scorn, mockery, contempt, lack, disapproval, and accusation. You may have felt as if ‘the enemy of this world’ has had the upper hand, but remember, God has not once lost a battle, and He never will. You are ‘favoured’ by the Lord, and He will never allow any weapon fashioned against you to ever prosper, (Isaiah 54:17)

Mary may have been possessed by seven devils, but she was delivered, and her story does not end there. Many people believe that it was this same Mary who ‘having a box of very costly fragranced oil, she stood at Jesus’ feet weeping; Then she began to wash His feet with her tears and wiped them with her hair’. Jesus has never been put off by the depths of our brokenness. Furthermore, He in not afraid to stand with the destitute, regardless of public disapproval. Hence, He was willing to ‘stoop down and write in the ground’.

The Pharisee who had invited Jesus to dinner wasn’t too pleased that Jesus allowed this ‘sinner woman to touch Him’. Jesus told His host that this woman has not stopped worshipping at His feet because ‘she has been forgiven much’. That’s a perfect answer. When you have been forgiven much, what else can we do but fall at His feet and worship. Let’s worship Him today.

PROPHETIC PRAYER
– I will praise You Lord. You have covered me with Your steadfast love and mercy.
– Your hands are never too short that it cannot save, neither are Your ears heavy that You do not hear.
– When You saw that there was no one to ‘stand in the gap’, Your own arm brought salvation. Thank You, Lord.
– You have made a vow concerning us and You are a God who will always keep Your Covenant Promise. We are Your Bride, and You are our ‘Kingsman Redeemer’.
– I will worship You Lord, because when the enemy came against me like a flood, You lifted a standard against him. You have been my defence all the day long. (Isaiah 59)
– Lord, We have been forgiven much. Therefore, we love You much.
