14 DAY PRAYER JOURNAL
DAY 10
THEME: Luke 1:30-38
‘Do not be afraid Mary, for you have found favour with God…The Holy Spirit will upon you, and the Power of the Highest will overshadow you…for with God nothing is impossible’
The Fifth Blessing: ‘You Have Found Favour With God’
The birth of Jesus was foretold in Isaiah 7:14, it declares: ‘Therefore, the Lord Himself shall give you a sign, Behold a virgin shall conceive and bear a Son and His Name shall be called Emmanuel’.
The prophecy clearly states, ‘A certain virgin’ shall conceive. The name of the virgin was not mentioned. Nobody knew who this person was going to be. However, when the ‘fullness of time’ came, Mary was found in the ‘equation’ or the ‘line-up’ for that blessing.
The Bible says, ‘At the fullness of time’ God sent the angel Gabriel to tell Mary the good news that she had ‘found favour’. Please be aware that Mary was not the only virgin in Israel at that time. There were many young women and many virgins, but the angel located Mary. Mary found grace in the eyes of the Lord (or should I say), ‘Grace and Favour’ went searching for an appropriate vessel, and Mary captured their attention. Scripture states that the ‘Eyes of the Lord run to and fro throughout the whole earth, to show Himself strong on the behalf of them whose heart is perfect towards him’, [2 Chronicles 16:9]
When God endows us with His favour, doors of ‘connection’ will also begin to open. However, we must learn that our first connection must be with God, He is the One who ‘opens doors that no one can shut’. This also means that wherever we go, God is there, when we call God answers, and when we pray, God hears. Our connection to God is critical and must be understood as such so that we do not place trust in the ‘arms of flesh’. We must understand that it is not ‘flesh’ (or people) who anoints or appoints us, which also means that it is impossible for flesh or people to bring us promotion. Before God connects us to people, we must be ‘delivered from people’. When we are delivered from people, they no longer have any control over us. Eventually, when God divinely connects us to the right people, then this can truly be defined as ‘Divine Connections’. Favour enables you to see the right people…and the right people to see you. It was favour that enabled Ruth to be connected to both Naomi and Boaz, favour connected David to Jonathan, favour connected Esther to the king, and favour caused Joseph to stay connected to Mary, despite knowing she was carrying a pregnancy that was not his own.
The Favour of God not only produces ‘Destiny Connections, (people sent to assist you to your purpose), but favour will open doors to ‘Destiny Mentors, (instructors/coaches/teachers); Destiny Benefactors, (doners/tithers/givers/contributors); Destiny Warriors, (people assigned to pray you up) ; and Destiny Angels, (heavenly beings sent to ensure your success)’
PROPHETIC PRAYER
• Father, keep me connected to You. There is no failure in God.
• Father, deliver me from people.
• Father, let me not fear what ‘man can do to me’: I am covered by my ‘Divine Destiny Keepers.
