Text: 2 Kings 4:9-10
‘ And she said unto her husband, Behold now, I perceive that this is a holy man of God, which passes by us continually. Let us make a little chamber, I pray thee, on the wall; and let us set for him there a bed, and a table, and a stool, and a candlestick’

‘Building The Chamber. Pt 2. Build With What You Have’
Notice also the meticulous care of this woman. Elisha later said, ‘Thou hast been careful about us with all this care.’ Her building carried excellence. She was not careless with what she discerned to be holy. There are things we ask God to entrust to us while God is watching how we handle what He has already placed in our hands.
– Build your prayer life with care.
– Build your character with care.
– Build your family with care.
– Build your ministry with care.
– Build your relationships with care.
– Build your assignment with care.
Because what you build in private can eventually speak for you in public.
The Shunammite Woman never built the chamber as a transaction. She did not say, ‘If I build this room, perhaps the prophet will bless me.’ She built because she recognised something of God and desired to honour it.
There will be seasons when God asks you first to build without showing you the result of the build. The chamber had not yet produced a miracle. There was no son, no resurrection and no testimony. There may be no immediate reward, no recognition and no visible evidence that what you are doing is producing anything. But obedience does not need an audience, and faithfulness does not need applause. The chamber itself was an act of faith.
So, Woman of God, keep building:
– Build with what is in your hand.
– Build with what is in your house.
– Build with what God has entrusted to you.
– Build with excellence.
– Build with intentionality.
– Build with meticulous care.
You may think you are simply preparing a chamber, but you do not yet know what God intends to do in the room you are building.
Let us Pray
– I declare that I will create an environment where the supernatural activity of God can flourish.
– Father, give me wisdom to recognise the resources, gifts and opportunities You have already placed around me.
– I will not compare my chamber with another woman’s chamber. I will faithfully build what You have assigned to me.
– Lord, make me faithful with what is already in my hands.
– I declare I will build. I will prepare. I will make room. I will not abandon my assignment.
– Father, let my life become a chamber that accommodates Your Presence. In Jesus’ Name. Amen.
