Scarred but not discarded Day 9

Scarred but not discarded Day 9

WORD: Turning A Broken Story Into God’s Glory
Another favourite Scripture of mine is found in Isaiah 54:5-6, where it says, ‘Fear not…You shall forget the embarrassment of your youth; You shall not remember the reproach of your past life anymore. Because Your Creator will become Your Husband; The Lord…is His Name. Yes, you felt abandoned, rejected, and ignored. Your spirit was crushed and in grief. But the Lord saw your worth and called you. When everyone else refused you, the Lord deliberately chose you’. What comforting Words from Our Lord. Don’t you just love the Lord? Listen to how He articulates His love, commitment and devotion towards us. We can see why this intense love can only be described as ‘Covenantal’. It’s a love that is unbreakable, shatterproof, steadfast, unconditional, and absolute. Why do we find it so difficult to articulate or even receive such healing words from God and from each other?

That’s why I love Ezekiel 16:4-14. Have a read when you can. It speaks of God’s love for us when we were most rejected. It is quite graphic, as it describes how we were thrown into the ‘open fields’ at birth. Our parents didn’t even bother to clean away the blood. But the Lord saw us and shouted, ‘Live’. The Lord picked us up, covered our nakedness, washed away the blood, anointed us, clothed us with designer outfits, lavished us with gold, silver, and Precious Stones…we lacked nothing. Furthermore, God sealed His love, by making a Covenant with Himself, to care for us, come what may. It was an Eternal Covenant. What a ‘turn-around’.

Both Isaiah and Ezekiel describe in detail our supernatural, sudden, and drastic transformation. That is what God’s love does, it causes us to become unrecognisable. Yes, we may not have had a great start, nevertheless, the Lord made a ‘detour’ just for us. Jesus saw us naked, broken and bleeding outside the camp. We were without security, without protection, and without hope. Jesus really did not have to leave His home in Glory, but when He saw us lying there in our ‘own blood’, He took off His royal apparel, dressed Himself in human flesh, and made a ‘detour’ just for me. Jesus made a diversion pass His throne, ran through rugged terrain, pushed through darkness, just to get to me. When He saw me, He shouted, ‘LIVE’. Yes! I heard Him shout, ‘YOU SALL LIVE’ and that changed everything.

PROPHETIC PRAYER
– Father, into your hands we commit our entire being. Our Father has made an oath over us. We have the witness of His Son Jesus Christ. He sealed the deal with His own Blood, and this has been confirmed by His Holy Spirit. The Three that bears witness in Heaven. Hallelujah.
– Many of Your People have been lying in their blood, in their wounds, in their hurt, in their brokenness, in their pain, for so long, they are now severely Spiritually anaemic. They have no more strength to save themselves. Father, please find your people…save them.
– Father, fight for Your People. Wild beasts encircle them. Rejection is ready to pounce, low self-worth, accusation, and condemnation ready to tear. But there is a SHOUT in the atmosphere: YOU SHALL LIVE.
