Our topic for Talitha Cumi 2023 is entitled, ‘Out Of Your Belly Shall Flow’.
The text is taken from: John 4:13-14 & John 7:37-38.
‘Jesus… said unto her, Whosoever drinks of this water shall thirst again:
But whosoever drinks of the water that I shall give shall never thirst; The water that I shall give, shall be in them a well of water springing up into everlasting life’.
‘In the last day… Jesus stood…saying, If anyone thirst, come unto me, and drink.
Anyone who believes on me, as the scripture says, out of your belly shall flow rivers of living water’.
Jesus uttered these famous words during the ‘Feast of Tabernacles’. The Festival of Tabernacles (also known as, Sukkot). was one of the major Jewish annual feasts, along with Passover, and Pentecost (Shavuot). Though they are known as ‘Jewish Feasts’, bible scholars commonly refer to them as ‘Feasts of the Lord’, as this is how the Bible often depict them. (Leviticus 23:4-44),
