Christ In The Crisis

Christ In The Crisis

Word: Christ In The Crisis

Jairus was in a ‘crisis’, his daughter was severely sick… unto death. Jesus was on his way to touch her but whilst He was going, another woman with an ‘issue’ delayed Him. In the meantime, Jairus’ daughter died. A crisis is not necessarily a bad thing. A crisis can act as a catalyst for change, or a ‘wake-up’ call, shifting us into a new direction or making us aware of what really is important.

Sometimes we may find ourselves living a basic, unimpressive life. We get up, do what we have to do (quite often without thinking), we may offer up some kind of prayer, read a passage of scripture posted on Facebook. We go out, come back in, and we can do this for years. We often convince ourselves into believing that we are not really able to make a difference because we don’t have the skills, the opportunity, the resources, the qualification, the right contacts, finances or time. So, we promise ourselves that we will do ‘so and so’ after we have saved up, after the children have grown, when we feel better, or when we feel more qualified. We even fool ourselves into thinking that marriage will be our turning point. We sometimes think that all we need is to find the right partner, the right contacts, or the right social groups. thus, we put our lives on hold and time ticks by and seasons come, and seasons go. That is why a crisis is not necessarily a bad thing.

It was a crisis that propelled a ruler from the Synagogue, Jairus by name, to fall at the feet of Jesus, seeking healing for his daughter. The same crisis created an opportunity for both the ‘woman with an issue’ and a young dead girl to come into contact with Jesus. Both received God’s touch so great, its testimony is still being used today to heal thousands. Your yesterday’s crisis is somebody’s source of breakthrough tomorrow. The ways of God can be a mystery. We may not fully understand exactly what God is up to or why, but there is one thing we are certain of, God is God. God is who He says He is, and He never fails. Luke 8:49 tells us that whilst Jesus was speaking to the ‘woman with the issue’, Jairus’ daughter dies. However, this does not faze Jesus, He turns to Jairus saying, ‘Fear not: only believe. She shall be made whole’. Now, if Jesus says, ‘She shall be made whole’, you can be assured that ‘It Shall Come To Pass’: Death may have come but It will pass. All I’m left to declare is, ‘over and out’. Now drop the mike, walk out and don’t forget to shout, ‘Hallelujah’.

PROPHETIC PRAYER
– Father, many of Your People have been lying in their blood, in their wounds, in their hurt, in their brokenness, in their pain, for so long, they are now severely Spiritually anaemic. They have no more strength to save themselves. Father, please find your people…save them.
– Father, fight for Your People. Wild beasts encircle them. Rejection is ready to pounce, low self-worth, accusation, and condemnation ready to tear. But there is a SHOUT in the atmosphere: YOU SHALL LIVE.
– See how Our Father runs to us? See how our Father picks us up and covers us. People of God, though we may look dead. We will emerge from this tomb with a shout of praise. Fear not. Only believe. It Shall Come To Pass.
