In today’s journal, we will be reflecting on two further blessings found in Luke 1:30-38: Blessing six and blessing seven.

The Sixth Blessing : ‘Behold, you shall conceive in your womb’

Today, place your own name in this promise and declare, ‘I will fear not…For I have found favour with God, therefore, I shall conceive in my womb’. Right now, you may not feel qualified or even worthy of God’s favour. Your flawed history, poor life’s choices, dubious family background, and difficult present reality is a constant reminder that you are not the ‘chosen one’. Thus, you have eliminated yourself from being selected for a blessing. For some reading this devotional, due to your poor track record, the people around you, including family relations, friends, intimate associations, even respected mentors, teachers, and spiritual leaders may see you as ‘less than’. There are times when their words are as sharp as a knife, cutting away hope, vision, purpose, self-worth, confidence, and self-respect.
