PASSOVER FAST 2026 – WRESTLING FOR PURPOSE

Dear Prayer Leaders,

As we prepare for a significant season of fasting and spiritual renewal in 2026, we align ourselves with our prophetic theme:

“I Will Not Let You Go Until You Bless Me” (Genesis 32:26)

Theme Declaration

Purpose | Prayer | Power

As we enter the Passover (Pesach) Fast, we are reminded of Jacob’s encounter with God at the river Jabbok – a moment of intense wrestling, surrender, and divine transformation. Jacob refused to let go until he received his blessing, and in doing so, his identity and destiny were changed.

Likewise, this fast is a call for us to press into God with determination, humility, and faith – refusing to release His presence until purpose is revealed, alignment is restored, and blessing is released.

Our Spiritual Focus for the Passover Fast

WRESTLING FOR PURPOSE

“Lord, I will not move forward until You bless and direct me.”

This season is about:

⁃Seeking divine clarity

⁃Confronting spiritual stagnation

⁃Aligning with God’s will

⁃Strengthening the church and families

⁃Preparing for growth and impact

Key Scripture Verses

Genesis 32:26 (NIV)

“Then the man said, ‘Let me go, for it is daybreak.’ But Jacob replied, ‘I will not let you go unless you bless me.’”

Jeremiah 29:11 (NIV)

“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”

The Significance of the Night and the Daybreak

Jacob wrestled with God throughout the night. The struggle took place in darkness, uncertainty, and exhaustion. Yet he refused to give up. He held on in faith, believing that his blessing was coming.

It was at daybreak that the blessing was released.

In Scripture, the night often represents seasons of waiting, testing, prayer, and spiritual struggle. The morning and daybreak represent renewal, restoration, victory, and divine release.

The Word reminds us that:

⁃“Weeping may endure for a night, but joy comes in the morning.”

⁃“Those who wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength.”

This teaches us that although the wrestling may feel difficult, the night will not last forever. Daybreak always comes.

As we fast, we are reminded that:

⁃Our pursuit is in the night season.

⁃Our perseverance is in the struggle.

⁃Our blessing is released at daybreak.

No matter what we are wrestling with; in our lives, families, church, or destiny God promises renewal, strength, and breakthrough in His appointed time.

As I prayed, the Lord reminded me that Jacob’s wrestle represents the posture every believer must take when pursuing destiny.

These scriptures teach us that:

1.God responds to persistent faith and spiritual hunger.

2.Purpose is often revealed in seasons of prayer and struggle.

3.Breakthrough comes when we refuse to let go of God’s presence.

4.God’s plans are intentional and designed for our future.

They remind us that blessing is not accidental, it is accessed through surrender, obedience, and perseverance.

Passover Fast Dates

The Passover Fast will commence on:

and concludes Sunday 19th April 2026 (50 Days of Fasting & Prayer)

Eight-Week Fast Themes and Prayer Focus

Week 1 – Wrestling for Repentance and Spiritual Renewal

Focus: Personal and Corporate Cleansing

Prayer Focus:

⁃Personal repentance

⁃Corporate repentance

⁃Spiritual renewal

⁃Restoring prayer altars

⁃Returning to first love

We pray for renewed hearts in individuals, families, and the church.

Week 2 – Wrestling for Consecration and Holiness

Focus: Separation Unto God

Prayer Focus:

⁃Holiness and discipline

⁃Commitment to God’s Word

⁃Spiritual growth

⁃Removing distractions

⁃Strengthening devotion

We pray that the church will be set apart for God’s glory.

Week 3 – Wrestling for Identity and Our Children

Focus: Knowing Who We Are in Christ

Prayer Focus:

⁃Identity in Christ

⁃Confidence and purpose

⁃Children and youth

⁃Protection from negative influences

⁃Godly foundations

We pray for strong spiritual identity in every generation.

Week 4 – Wrestling for Direction and Church Vision

Focus: God’s Will and Strategy

Prayer Focus:

⁃Church vision and mission

⁃Leadership direction

⁃Expansion and growth

⁃Wisdom in decisions

⁃Alignment with God’s plan

We pray for clarity and divine guidance for the church.

Week 5 – Wrestling for Healing, Families, and Restoration

Focus: Wholeness and Reconciliation

Prayer Focus:

⁃Healing of hearts and bodies

⁃Marriages and families

⁃Broken relationships

⁃Emotional restoration

⁃Forgiveness and unity

We pray for strong, healthy families and restored relationships.

Week 6 – Wrestling for Breakthrough and Deliverance

Focus: Freedom and Victory

Prayer Focus:

⁃Deliverance from strongholds

⁃Financial breakthrough

⁃Mental and emotional freedom

⁃Breaking generational cycles

⁃Open doors and favour

We pray for release, victory, and new opportunities.

Week 7 – Wrestling for Empowerment and Leadership

Focus: Readiness for Assignment

Prayer Focus:

⁃Spiritual strength

⁃Boldness in faith

⁃Church leaders

⁃Ministry workers

⁃Anointing and grace

We pray for empowered leaders and equipped workers.

Week 8 – Finale Sunday (19th April 2026) (Church Anniverary)

From Wrestling to Blessing: Walking in Purpose

Focus: Celebration, Commissioning, and Thanksgiving

Prayer Focus:

⁃Thanksgiving

⁃Testimonies

⁃Prophetic release

⁃Dedication to God

⁃Commissioning for service

Declaration:

We entered this fast wrestling. We leave it walking in purpose.
