Set-up to Step-up Day 7

Text: 2 Kings 4:12-13.
‘It fell on a day that Elisha passed through Shunem, where there lived a great woman; And she would often implore him to stop and eat. She discerned Elisha to be a holy man of God and decided to build him a chamber so that he could stop by and find rest. Elisha said to Gehazi, call this Shunammite Woman, say to her, you have been meticulous in your care for us, ‘ What Is There To Be Done For You? ’

Being focused on God’s Kingdom automatically brings an award. It’s not something that you’re looking for, it’s a principle of doing God’s will and doing it well. The very first thing that Jesus began to preach in Matthew 4:17 was, ‘Repent, for the Kingdom of heaven is at hand.’ Jesus was demonstrating to us how important being Kingdom focused was in His agenda.

Many times we find ourselves doubting if we are capable to fulfil the role: We question if it is the right timing and what will it cost. God does not expect for us to do it perfectly, but he wants us to start. God’s intention is for us to step out of the boat and onto the water (just like Peter did) and He will guide our steps, (Matthew 14:28-31). The Shunamite woman was very meticulous in her work, she gave God her best, her focus was on Kingdom more than anything else going on around her.

You don’t need to wait to be qualified, you need to step out with what you have. God sees your labour and it will not be in vain; he watches everything we do.

Shifting from our busy daily routine to support a passer-by and stepping out of the ‘comfort of a boat’ to ‘walk on water’ requires intentional obedience. The impact of our obedience gives the Lord the power to transform our narrative and re-writer our story. God’s favour is attached to our obedience; it is His will to ‘bless us indeed’. God does not want us camping on the outskirts of His favour, and it is not His will for us to accept ‘ordinary living’. Our Kingdom calling is the ‘Set-Up’, our obedience is the ‘Step-Up’: from ordinary to extraordinary; from average to excellence; and from minimal existence to maximum potential.

Let us Pray
– Father today we want to repent for not putting your kingdom first in everything we do.
– We decree and declare that we will from this day forward put your Kingdom on our priority list.
– Father, we will be diligent in seeking out your face for instructions on what you want us to do for your kingdom.
– We make an intentional decision that excuses will no longer be part of our vocabulary.
– Synchronize us with Your purpose Lord and cause us to see every assignment you have placed in us to a total completion.
– Lord, we pray for strength to complete what you placed in us, increase us in our ability to hear from you clearly and know the times and seasons.
– Lord, we want to hear You say, ‘Well Done’. In Jesus name Amen!!
