Text: 2 Kings 4:12-13
‘It fell on a day that Elisha passed through Shunem, where there lived a great woman; She would often implore him to stop and eat. One day she told her husband that she discerned Elisha to be a holy man of God, and she decided to build him a chamber so that he could stop by and find rest. Elisha said to Gehazi, call this Shunammite Woman, say to her, you have been thoughtful and meticulous in your care for us, ‘What Is There To Be Done For You?’
Word
Divine connections are not coincidental. The Lord allows these interactions for supernatural outcomes. Divine friendships are like ‘Covenantal Relationships’: These are ‘God-sent’ individuals carrying divine supplies that aids us towards our ‘God-given’ assignments. There are times when these ‘God ordained connections’ are misunderstood, misinterpreted, and even disrespected. So, these ‘God-ordained Kingdom agents’ come, and they disappear, taking with them significant resources or keys needed to open destiny doors.
Some of our interactions with people may not be from this earth realm. There are some beings sent our way who we can only describe as ‘angels’. Abraham was another great example of showing meticulous care to three strangers who were passing his tent. Genesis 18:2 tells us that when he saw the men, he ran to meet them, bowing to the ground. Abraham begged them to stay, so that they could eat, drink, and rest. Right throughout this story we see Abraham running with speed to serve, making sure they were given the best calf, the best butter, and the best milk. It is not until later in the chapter that we realise these were no ordinary men but a ‘Divine Visitation’. The Lord Himself had come to give both Abraham and Sarah vital information about the promised son, declaring, ‘Is there anything too hard for the Lord?’.
We do not serve a coincidental Being. God’s intention is for His Kingdom to invade this earth’s realm through His Kingdom people. We are God’s people on earth working in union with other Kingdom Agents to fulfil God’s Will. Some agents are mortal and others are divine, but together we are ‘Kingdom Ambassadors’. We are connected to each other with one assignment: To let God’s Kingdom come. Therefore, let us consider each person we meet as a ‘set-up’.
Word of warning, some encounters are designed to frustrate and hinder the will of God, they can come speaking in tongues and prophesying: Be discerning. Equally, let us also be mindful of ‘ministering spirits’, angels on assignments, and Kingdom ambassadors. Kingdom Agents often come without introduction, without titles, without loud commendations or accolades, listen attentively to the Holy Spirit and treat them with respect, they may hold the key to your next ‘Step-Up’.
