Theme Text: Mark 5:22–42
‘Then came one of the Rulers of the Synagogue, Jairus by name, seeking Jesus, saying, My little daughter is at the point of death:
When Jesus heard it, He answered, Fear not: Only believe.
And He took the damsel by the hand, saying, Talitha Cumi, meaning, Daughter, I say unto you Arise’.
Theme Word: ‘The Writing In The Sand’
For the next two days I would like to talk to you about Talitha Cumi, which, when interpreted means, ‘Daughter Arise’. Our Mission Statement is: Lifting, Healing, and Restoring Women to Fulfil their Maximum Potential. Our Theme is: ‘Raising Daughters to Walk as Conquerors. Our Vision is motivated by Mark 5:22–42, the raising of Jairus’ daughter.
The story of Jairus’s daughter is also strongly connected to another story, that of the ‘Woman with an Issue’. One had been sick for twelve years, the other was just twelve years old. The first daughter decided to ‘breakthrough’ the crowd, refusing to be denied her miracle. The younger daughter was encouraged to keep believing, even in the face of death.
What is your story? ‘Is it possible that you too may have issues, fears, physical restrictions, unhealthy labels, poor expectations, generational patterns, unwholesome connexions, unseen forces, preventing you from walking in your ‘maximum potential’? Hear me today, there is nothing in your script that catches God off-guard. On the contrary, God specializes in impossible life stories, and He seems to gravitate towards ‘broken vessels’. Thank You, Jesus.
The story goes on to say that Jesus enters Jairus’s home declaring ‘Talitha Cumi: Daughter Arise’. What is it that is afflicting you? And how long have you been waiting? Well! Jesus is intentionally passing your way. Reach out and touch Him. Even if it looks like it’s about to die, or maybe it’s already dead, it is still not over. Jesus’s Words to Martha were, ‘I Am the resurrection and life, though it is dead, yet shall it live’ (John 11:25-26). Then there is the grand finale, you will emerge, not bound-up, drained, or lifeless: No! you have too much to accomplish. Jesus went on to shout: ‘Come forward… Loosen the graveclothes… and let’s go’. (John 11:44)
PROPHETC PRAYER
– Lord, You are my Jehovah Shammah: My very present help when I’m in trouble.
– You are my Jehovah Roi: The God who sees me and pleads for me.
– I will say of the Lord, You are my Deliverer, You extricate me from conflict, danger, sickness and disease.
– You are my Jehovah Shamar: You cover me, preserve me and hedge me in.
– You watch over me like a fruitful garden. You have given Your angels charge over me, to keep me in all my ways.
– You are my El Qanna: The Jealous God. No evil will come near my dwelling.
– Father, Your Grace is sufficient for me.
– Help me to rise up to fulfil my assignments and end my season well.
