Word: Turning A Broken Story Into God’s Glory
Sometimes life can seem so unfair, especially when we observe the wicked prosper. In Habakkuk 1:1, the Prophet describes this state of affairs as a ‘burden’; a vexation of spirit, a grievance of the soul, and a slap in the face of right living. Habakkuk questioned such injustice. Habakkuk wanted to know whether it was beneficial for him to keep praying and crying when it appears as if the Lord does not seem to hear. Habakkuk describes judgement as ‘slack’, because wickedness was increasing so rapidly, the righteous were being engulfed with no intervention from the Lord. Habakkuk was bold in his statements indeed, yet the Lord did not punish him. Instead, in Habakkuk 2:3 the Lord answers in one of His most famous speeches: ‘The vision is yet for an appointed time, but at the end it shall speak, and not lie: Though there is a delay, wait for it; It will surely happen…’
Yes, people of God, you may see people lie on their spreadsheets and benefit financially. You may witness people cheat in their exams and gain great marks. We hear people exaggerate their achievements and get promoted. And the list goes on. Yet, when we try to remain honest and when we insist on doing the right thing, it does not appear to yield any benefits. We are often left feeling cheated, overlooked, powerless, abused and used. We often wonder how certain people seem to get away with doing corrupt things and prosper.
Today, I want to declare that God is able to make ‘All things work out for our good, to them that love God and for them who are called to fulfil His purpose’. (Romans 8:28). Sometimes situations can seem so miserable, irredeemable and hopeless, but please saints: Wait. God does not work in our time frame. We want to fight now, we want vindication now, but our God is a ‘Master Strategist’, He knows when to deliver the final ‘knock-out’ punch. When God is finished, that devil will never get back up again. If you don’t believe me, go and ask Goliath.
It’s not over… until God says it’s over. God is the One who is in control. He informs us in Isaiah 46:10 that “He knows our end from the very beginning”. Moreover, He confirms this by saying, ‘My plan will stand, and I will do everything I intended to do’. For God’s intended purpose to be accomplished, your trial must have an expiry date. At this juncture, God will ‘restore health to you… He will heal your wounds’. Yes, my sisters and brothers, your ‘seeds’ of prayer will intercede on your behalf. The sound of your ‘seed’ is already resounding in the atmosphere. Your ‘seed’ will testify on your behalf. Your healing will be publicised, and your breakthrough will be visualized. In Jesus Name.
Prophetic Prayer
* Father, You are the same Yesterday; Today; And forever. You are able to ‘Re-Commission’ my yesterday; ‘Re-Fashion’ me today; And ‘Re-Empower’ me for my tomorrow.
* I do believe that I serve a God of ‘Suddenlies’. Though ‘weeping may endure for the night, ‘suddenly’ joy will come in the morning’. (Psalms 30:5)
* Today I am reminded that I am not abandoned; I’m not forsaken; And I’m not an orphan. I am Loved by God; Chosen and Predestined; Accepted by My Beloved; Made an Heir through Christ Jesus; Sealed by the Holy Spirit; Covered by the Blood; More than Conqueror; Assured an Inheritance; And Destined for Glory. Hallelujah.
