Ephesians 2:1,10
‘And you he made alive, who were dead in trespasses and sins.
For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works. Which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them.’
Oh, heavenly father, we thank you our God that you have made us alive. You’ve created us in Christ Jesus. Hallelujah. It is in Christ, Jesus, that we are made alive. Anything else is dead.
We thank you, oh God, that we are yours, Oh God. And it is for us to accept what you have done. Jesus has come and has died for us and our part is to accept it.
We cannot work for salvation, we cannot work for that creation status, oh God, it is something that you have given… that you have given by your grace. And we can only accept it and believe it. Oh God, help us that we will truly accept, believe, and accept.
You have a purpose for us, that you have prepared beforehand, for us to do, O God.
Help us, that we will enter in and accept what Jesus has done for us… and live the life that you want us to live… that we may grow into what you want us to be.
You have not created us to be static beings. You want us to grow, and we grow by accepting and being obedient to what you say that we should do, and what we do, oh God.
After we are saved… anything we do before we accept Jesus Christ does not count… it is what we do. And after accepting Jesus Christ, after receiving the life, the new life, after being regenerated, recreated, oh God, because we realize that people are in existence before they accept Christ, and it is the new birth that matters.
Everything else falls away and perishes. But it is the new life that you give: Jesus said, ‘I am come that you might have life and have it more abundantly.’ And we accept that. We receive the life that Jesus Christ has purchased for us, Oh God, in giving his life for us.
And it is you, it was your plan of workmanship, Oh God, that’s how it had to be done… We had to be created in Christ Jesus for good works. And once we have been created, we are required to do good works. It’s for that purpose that we are created… that we should do good works, we should walk the walk.
Oh God, we should do what you say do, we should walk in love; we should love our brethren… pray for our brethren… we should pray ‘Your kingdom come; your will be done.’ And that is a requirement that we must do.
We cannot just believe that we are saved and we don’t need to pray. The good works that you require of us includes prayer as one of the basic requirements, a fundamental requirement… an essential requirement that we should pray.
Hallelujah! Your kingdom come. Your will be done. We should do the things that You require.
Oh God, we should be good to our brethren. We should be good to all. We should not think evil, we should not let evil have its way in our thoughts, in our minds, in our actions. Oh God, we should be true.
We should avoid, we should refuse, reject evil, oh God, and do what is good because You created us for good… to do good.
We thank you that we are your workmanship and we, we might have rough edges when we are first born into this new creation of God. But by believing your word, by receiving your word, by being obedient to your word, oh God, we can grow into who you want us to be. The rough edges will be made smooth, oh God, Hallelujah.
Oh God, you give us respectability. Hallelujah. We bless your name, Father. We, we thank you for all that you’ve done. We thank you that we are your workmanship.
Hallelujah, we bless your name, Father, in Jesus name.
