Out of My Belly Shall Flow – Day 14 -When the poor widow told Elisha that all she had was a small jar of oil, Elisha told her to go around her neighbourhood and gather as many empty jars as she could. It is at this juncture that Elisha began preparing the widow for her blessing. Prior to this, the widow had made no preparation for her breakthrough. As much as the widow might have prayed, fasted, and cried out before the Lord, without preparation, the widow would have remained without the miraculous flow of oil. How many of us have cried out to God for a blessing, for a breakthrough, and felt like our situation had only gotten worse? The widow only had a small jar of oil left to her name, so, it can be assumed that she had already sold or surrendered the rest of her possessions. This was her breaking point. However, she was not prepared for what the Lord had instore for her. Only once the widow had collected as many jars as she could and began to pour, did she begin to see the extraordinary supply of oil.
