SUMMARY:WRESTLING FOR PURPOSE
DESCRIPTION:PASSOVER FAST 2026 – WRESTLING FOR PURPOSE\n(1st March – 19th April 2026 | 50 Days)\n\nDear Prayer Leaders,\n\nAs we prepare for a significant season of fasting and spiritual renewal in 2026, we align ourselves with our prophetic theme:\n\n“I Will Not Let You Go Until You Bless Me” (Genesis 32:26)\n\nTheme Declaration\nPurpose | Prayer | Power\n\nAs we enter the Passover (Pesach) Fast, we are reminded of Jacob’s encounter with God at the river Jabbok – a moment of intense wrestling, surrender, and divine transformation. Jacob refused to let go until he received his blessing, and in doing so, his identity and destiny were changed.\n\nLikewise, this fast is a call for us to press into God with determination, humility, and faith – refusing to release His presence until purpose is revealed, alignment is restored, and blessing is released.\n\nOur Spiritual Focus for the Passover Fast\n\nWRESTLING FOR PURPOSE\n“Lord, I will not move forward until You bless and direct me.”\n\nThis season is about:\n⁃Seeking divine clarity\n⁃Confronting spiritual stagnation\n⁃Aligning with God’s will\n⁃Strengthening the church and families\n⁃Preparing for growth and impact\n\nKey Scripture Verses\nGenesis 32:26 (NIV)\n“Then the man said, ‘Let me go, for it is daybreak.’ But Jacob replied, ‘I will not let you go unless you bless me.’”\n\nJeremiah 29:11 (NIV)\n“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”\n\nThe Significance of the Night and the Daybreak\nJacob wrestled with God throughout the night. The struggle took place in darkness, uncertainty, and exhaustion. Yet he refused to give up. He held on in faith, believing that his blessing was coming.\n\nIt was at daybreak that the blessing was released.\n\nIn Scripture, the night often represents seasons of waiting, testing, prayer, and spiritual struggle. The morning and daybreak represent renewal, restoration, victory, and divine release.\n\nThe Word reminds us that:\n⁃“Weeping may endure for a night, but joy comes in the morning.”\n⁃“Those who wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength.”\n\nThis teaches us that although the wrestling may feel difficult, the night will not last forever. Daybreak always comes.\nAs we fast, we are reminded that:\n⁃Our pursuit is in the night season.\n⁃Our perseverance is in the struggle.\n⁃Our blessing is released at daybreak.\n\nNo matter what we are wrestling with; in our lives, families, church, or destiny God promises renewal, strength, and breakthrough in His appointed time.\n\nAs I prayed, the Lord reminded me that Jacob’s wrestle represents the posture every believer must take when pursuing destiny.\n\nThese scriptures teach us that:\n1.God responds to persistent faith and spiritual hunger.\n2.Purpose is often revealed in seasons of prayer and struggle.\n3.Breakthrough comes when we refuse to let go of God’s presence.\n4.God’s plans are intentional and designed for our future.\n\nThey remind us that blessing is not accidental, it is accessed through surrender, obedience, and perseverance.\n\nPassover Fast Dates\nThe Passover Fast will commence on:\nSunday 1st March 2026\nand concludes Sunday 19th April 2026 (50 Days of Fasting & Prayer)\n\nEight-Week Fast Themes and Prayer Focus\n\nWeek 1 – Wrestling for Repentance and Spiritual Renewal\nFocus: Personal and Corporate Cleansing\n\nPrayer Focus:\n⁃Personal repentance\n⁃Corporate repentance\n⁃Spiritual renewal\n⁃Restoring prayer altars\n⁃Returning to first love\n\nWe pray for renewed hearts in individuals, families, and the church.\n\nWeek 2 – Wrestling for Consecration and Holiness\nFocus: Separation Unto God\n\nPrayer Focus:\n⁃Holiness and discipline\n⁃Commitment to God’s Word\n⁃Spiritual growth\n⁃Removing distractions\n⁃Strengthening devotion\n\nWe pray that the church will be set apart for God’s glory.\n\nWeek 3 – Wrestling for Identity and Our Children\nFocus: Knowing Who We Are in Christ\n\nPrayer Focus:\n⁃Identity in Christ\n⁃Confidence and purpose\n⁃Children and youth\n⁃Protection from negative influences\n⁃Godly foundations\n\nWe pray for strong spiritual identity in every generation.\n\nWeek 4 – Wrestling for Direction and Church Vision\nFocus: God’s Will and Strategy\n\nPrayer Focus:\n⁃Church vision and mission\n⁃Leadership direction\n⁃Expansion and growth\n⁃Wisdom in decisions\n⁃Alignment with God’s plan\n\nWe pray for clarity and divine guidance for the church.\n\nWeek 5 – Wrestling for Healing, Families, and Restoration\nFocus: Wholeness and Reconciliation\n\nPrayer Focus:\n⁃Healing of hearts and bodies\n⁃Marriages and families\n⁃Broken relationships\n⁃Emotional restoration\n⁃Forgiveness and unity\n\nWe pray for strong, healthy families and restored relationships.\n\nWeek 6 – Wrestling for Breakthrough and Deliverance\nFocus: Freedom and Victory\n\nPrayer Focus:\n⁃Deliverance from strongholds\n⁃Financial breakthrough\n⁃Mental and emotional freedom\n⁃Breaking generational cycles\n⁃Open doors and favour\n\nWe pray for release, victory, and new opportunities.\n\nWeek 7 – Wrestling for Empowerment and Leadership\nFocus: Readiness for Assignment\n\nPrayer Focus:\n⁃Spiritual strength\n⁃Boldness in faith\n⁃Church leaders\n⁃Ministry workers\n⁃Anointing and grace\n\nWe pray for empowered leaders and equipped workers.\n\nWeek 8 – Finale Sunday (19th April 2026) (Church Anniverary)\nFrom Wrestling to Blessing: Walking in Purpose\n\nFocus: Celebration, Commissioning, and Thanksgiving\n\nPrayer Focus:\n⁃Thanksgiving\n⁃Testimonies\n⁃Prophetic release\n⁃Dedication to God\n⁃Commissioning for service\n\nDeclaration:\nWe entered this fast wrestling.
